Helios Quarterly Magazine aims to publish quality fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and art that illuminates the darkness. HQM wants stories and poems that grab ahold of a reader from the opening lines all the way to the finish line. Works that push boundaries, are succinct, and well developed are smiled upon.
October 1-15 11:59PM EST (December Issue)
Anything submitted outside of these windows will be deleted unread. Artists and photographers can submit year round.
The macabre has always been alluring. Science fiction involves humanity brought to the brink of extinct from rouge technology. The horror genre runs on terrifying ghouls and horrifying bloodshed. Fantasy literature has numerous battlefields littered with the mythical dead. Exquisite Corpse wants stories that are macabre, disjointed, and strange. How is death handled under exceptional circumstances? Why are some ends more powerful than others? Open to submit between January 1- January 15 11:59PM EST.

- Nonfiction narratives that examine death within horror, sci-fi, and fantasy
- Horror, sci-fi, and fantasy that features non-linear storytelling
